Events guide and ticket agent Skiddle has made a spate of senior appointments after reporting year-on-year sales were up 64%.

The Lancashire-based business ended the 2014/15 year strongly with 64 per cent year-on-year sales growth and a 43% increase in its New Year’s Eve event transactions – the business’ busiest sales period.

In its most recent senior appointment, Skiddle has taken on London-based Dante Williams to head up its business development activities across the South. Williams holds previous roles at Maxxed-Out! Entertainment, Purple E3 Venue and 24 Artist Management, and is the founder of UKG Fest – the indoor UK Garage Festival.

In his most recent role as business development manager at theatre and concert venue Troxy, Williams grew the establishment into a fully functioning venue, hosting over 350 live music and sporting events every year.

Skiddle’s tech development team, which focuses on the development of apps and its new promotion centre, has also doubled in size in 2015. The business has also taken on an additional account manager and added three new members to its customer services team, to complete the quarter’s appointments.

Notable new event partnerships for 2015 include exclusive deals with Groovefest in Scotland, Brighton Music Conference and Hijacked Festival, as well as new partnerships with Nightvision, Edinburgh and Made Festival in Birmingham, which Skiddle is also powering the websites for. It has also just been announced that the business is now selling tickets for BBC Radio 1’s Academy in Norwich.

Ben Sebborn, technical director at Skiddle, said: “We’ve witnessed a period of huge growth and have appointed a number of new, talented staff members accordingly. We’re already established across the North, and while we’ll continue to focus our efforts here, the appointment of Dante in London will help us to grow our business even further in the South. His experience across the full spectrum of the events industry makes him well placed to oversee our business development activities across this region.

“Looking forward, we’re expecting to see sustained growth as we continue to secure beneficial deals with events across the UK and provide our customers with innovative solutions and a great service. Here’s to another excellent year.”
