The Association of Event Venues (AEV) has announced that Sandown Park Racecourse has joined the association as its newest member. Since opening in Esher, Surrey, in 1875 as one of Britain’s first purpose-built racecourses and leisure destinations, Sandown Park has built a reputation both as a world-famous racecourse and desirable event venue.

Tracy Rusbridge, Jockey Club Venues London said: “Joining the AEV is an exciting step forward for us in developing our events business. We may be known across the world for our racecourses, but our venues need the industry recognition that a membership of this kind can bring. We’re looking forward to meeting our industry peers and sharing best practice in the year ahead.”

Rachel Parker, AEV director, announcing, “Sandown Park Racecourse is an internationally recognised sporting and events venue, so it is with great pleasure that we welcome the whole team to the association. Every new member brings a new perspective and fresh expertise to the association, especially as part of our community of working groups.
