Nick de Bois, chair of the Events Industry Board has put his support behind the MyEvent.Vision competition as it nears the final closing date for entries.

“One of the challenges set to the industry is to continue to create jobs and business opportunities for growth,” de Bois said.

“This initiative is a first class example of such an initiative; that encourages endeavour, entrepreneurial spirit and creativity, and rewards it with a highly supportive event that in turns creates business opportunities within another industry. I wish everyone at MyEvent.Vision the very best of luck, and look forward to seeing a new raft of creative events spurred on by its valuable work.”

The format of MyEvent.Vision has been described as Dragons’ Den meets The Apprentice. Applications can be from anyone who has an idea that will work in practice and be recognised as distinctive.

The winning candidate will be offered a full-time or freelance role with the EIG events agency, £5,000 prize money as well as investment into the event concept.

The last date for entry is 8 February, with finalists invited to present to the judging panel during the Event Production Show and International Confex in UK Events Week

The competition organisers will also be creating a ‘finale spectacular’ on the main stage of Event Production Show on 3 March at Olympia London.
