A brand-new company specialising in the provision of production and technical freelancers to the film and TV industry has launched today.

Studioforce is a new business that will see the experience of ITV Studio’s former head of scenic and lighting, Dave Stevens (pictured left), combined with the expertise and backing of global event support company Showforce.

Studioforce will offer a network of talented personnel including: gaffers, lighting electricians, camera operators, camera supervisors, carpenters, sound engineers, and more. They include individuals with experience in delivering sporting events, drama productions, reality television, news, commercials, corporate broadcasts and light entertainment shows.

Stevens commented: “When the recent changes at ITV Studios were announced, obviously I needed to look for a new opportunity. I’ve known the team at Showforce for a long time, having utilised their services for many years.

“Marrying the Showforce ethos with my own skills and experience to launch a dedicated crewing company for the film and TV industry seemed the logical next step.

“Having spent over 30 years working in television, being responsible for a staff of 50 and a further freelance pool of up to 150 people, I have both the knowledge and the contacts to deliver a service that is definitely required in the industry.

“I’m looking forward to pooling that with a team of people who completely understand how to run a highly efficient crewing company. It’s the perfect combination and I can’t wait to get started.”
