The Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism and External Affairs Fiona Hyslop yesterday (27 July) announced the appointment of four new members to Creative Scotland’s board.

Creative Scotland is the country’s national development agency, funded by the Scottish Government and through The National Lottery, for the arts, screen and creative industries.

The appointments of Ian Aitchison, Karen Forbes, Cate Nelson-Shaw and Karthik Subramanya follow a recruitment exercise by the Scottish Government.

Richard Findlay, chair of the Creative Scotland Board, said: “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Karthik, Iain, Karen and Cate to the board. Their broad range of experience, background and perspectives will further strengthen those already brought to our board by the existing members.

“Our culture is vitally important in the challenging times we find ourselves in and, as a board, we will do everything we can to continue to support it to be positive, confident and to thrive.

“I very much look forward to working with all board members over the coming months and years.”
