McFly band member Tom Fletcher launched his children’s fiction book The Christmasaurus at the Natural History Museum on 5 October.

The venue’s Earth Hall was transformed for the occasion into a Christmas wonderland, with season lighting, canapés and a giant ‘Christmasaurus’ made from 2,500 Warburton’s crumpets.

The Christmas scene was constructed by Bespoke Events, who matched the lighting to the book’s jacket using blues, whites and purples as well as snowflake projections.

Food by Dish created a bespoke canapé menu including confit turkey leg ballotine with blackberry, Goat’s cheese and beetroot trifle with gingerbread, Quails eggs Florentine with pink peppercorns and homemade miniature mince pies.

Lauren Hyett, head of PR for Penguin Random House Children’s, commented: “Where better to celebrate the launch of a book about a very special dinosaur than at the Natural History Museum? Tom Fletcher and Penguin Random House wanted to throw the first Christmas party of the season to celebrate The Christmasaurus in festive style.”
