LION Trackhire has ordered 13,000 new track panels, increasing the company’s total stock to more than 43,000, as part of a major regrowth plan.

The Event Production Award-winning company is shortlisted in both the Festival Supplier Awards and the Event Technology Awards, capping off a year that saw an increase in overall demand and long-term contract agreements.

“We have run at full capacity over this summer, and this year’s uncertain weather has resulted in a need for more flexibility around recovery dates,” said LION marketing manager Mark Tennant.

“This investment allows us to have that flexibility, giving customers peace of mind and enabling us to accommodate the growing demand in other sectors,” he added.

The newly invested trackway is the company’s fifth generation kit, having been first invented in the 1960s by director Dale Robinson’s father. Made from recycled aluminium, the trackway is LION’s latest attempt to be more eco-friendly in every aspect of the company.

“This move will include substantial investment in the vehicle fleet,” said Robinson, “and see the creation of many more new jobs in the company.”
