James Heappey, Conservative MP for Wells and chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for events, will speak at the Event Production Show on 28 February.

Heappey will take part in a panel discussion, chaired by The Fair CEO Nick Morgan on the Main Stage at Olympia London.

Alan Miller, chairman of The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) and David Tunnicliffe, commercial director, GL events UK, will also take part in the session.

The Event Production Show’s panel Are We Of Value to the Industry? carries this introduction:

“We have an industry worth £46bn, it is the third biggest in the UK so surely we are integral to the UK economy? Despite this, we are really not represented at a government level and we want this to change. There is a huge amount of money in the exhibitions sector for inward investment, shouldn’t we be competing on a global level for festivals and outdoors shows? We have some of the best producers and promoters in the world – shouldn’t we be more ambitious and proactive about developing our industry?
