Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has announced a new partnership with Google, utilising Google Assistant and Google Pay to create an immersive visitor experience.

The big wheel centrepiece at the event will contain a digital voice assistant in each of its 41 pods, playing favourite Christmas songs and revealing fun facts about Winter Wonderland.

In the queue, visitors will be able to make use of commands such as ‘make it snow’ for a snow selfie, or ‘ask the winter elves to make me hot chocolate’ for a complimentary hot sweet treat.

The Google Pay app will allow visitors to use contactless payment across the event, from food and drink to accessing rides and attractions. They can also speed through online checkout and store their e-tickets in Google Pay.

Stephen Flint Wood, SVP & managing director, arts & entertainment, IMG said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the Google team to bring the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland experience to the next level.

“As the country’s leading festive event, we are always striving for innovative new ways to surprise and delight visitors and provide a seamless journey throughout. This year’s latest additions with Google Assistant and Google Pay will do exactly that.”

Calvin Lau, head of consumer apps and platforms UK Marketing, Google said: “Our products are built to help make everyday tasks easier; whether it’s playing music, setting an alarm by just asking the Google Assistant, or paying with a quick tap from Google Pay.

“We are excited to be working with Hyde Park Winter Wonderland this year to help enhance the visitor experience from start to finish.”
