The sixth edition of Green Events & Innovations returns to the ILMC next week (6 March).

In collaboration with the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF), A Greener Festival and Bucks New University, the one-day conference will focus on festival sustainability.

The conference will take place at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London. Guest speakers include Ben Challis (Glastonbury/AGF), Melinda Watson (Raw Foundation), Chris Johnson (Shambala Festival), Clive Phillips (Greenbox Events), Carlijn Lindemulder (ID&T) and a keynote from Alan Watson Featherstone (Trees for Life).

Latest solutions and technologies for event management will be demonstrated, and several debates are scheduled, hosted by Christof Huber (Yourope, Open Air St. Gallen), Mart Drake-Knight (Rapanui Clothing) and Dr Guy Champniss. Topics will range from waste left at festival campsites, to sustainable merchandise and clothing, to disposable plastics.

A Greener Festival Workshop for Assessors and a ‘Love Your Tent’ session are also scheduled.

“We are very happy to be joining the ILMC again this year for Green Events & Innovations,” said AIF and A Greener Festival’s Claire O’Neill. “The speakers who are joining us are an inspiration and have affected great change and development in their fields. The conversation is always two way, and we look forward to realising the next steps for the industry to improve itself.”
