Duetsche Telekom’s Electronic Beats has partnered with the Gorillaz for an augmented reality (AR) experience that took place at the Printworks venue in London on 24 March.

The secret show at London’s Printworks kicked off the partnership between the brand and the band, and marked the launch of their new album ‘Humanz’, set to release on 28 April. Gorillaz played the album live for the first time at the gig supported by Duetsche Telekom.

The one-off show at the Printworks saw Gorillaz perform the Grammy award-winning ‘Feel Good Inc’ featuring De La Soul, and were joined onstage by various musical guests including Del The Funky Homosapien for ‘Clint Eastwood’, Noel Gallagher, Jehnny Beth and Peven Everett. The live band of Gorillaz consists of Gabriel Wallace, Mike Smith, Jesse Hackett, Jeff Wootton, Damon Albarn, Karl Vanden Bossche and Seve Adelekan.

The partnership aims to take Duetsche Telekom’s 4G network and mould the technology to present Gorillaz in an innovative way to create a new dimension of music across Europe.

Deutsche Telekom’s Electronic Beats will offer fans exclusive content and articles written by band members Murdoc, 2D, Noodle and Russel. Fans can also expect an AR app that allows them access to exclusive Gorillaz content, and a live tour.
