GL events UK has been awarded the contract to provide temporary structures at all three UK Athletics managed events until 2019.

The provider of temporary infrastructure, seating and stadia for live events will deliver a range of activities and services to be provided for spectators.

Agreeing a three-year partnership will see GL events support the Müller Anniversary Games at the London Stadium, the British Athlectics Outdoor Team Trials and the Müller Grand Prix, both held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.

The appointment underlines GL events’ affinity with major outdoor sporting events, with the company confirmed as the national supplier of temporary structures for the World Para Athlectics Championships and IAAF World Championships London 2017.

“We are delighted to have secured GL Events for the next three years,” said Niels de Vos, chief executive of UK Athletics. “Their experience of working on some of the biggest sporting events in the world is second to none and gives us the confidence and continuity we need going forward as we continue to deliver world class athletics events in London and Birmingham.”

40,000 spectators are expected at the London stadium in July for the Müller Anniversary Games with the Alexander Stadium capacity expecting 12,000.

Scott Jameson, managing director at GL events, commented: “We’re delighted to be extending our relationship with British Athletics for a further three years, and to be supporting three more world-class and iconic sporting events. We look forward to helping them deliver the very best experience possible for the thousands watching and involved in these events.”
