GL Events has invested in a significant consignment of 56 Yamaha DXR8 powered speakers.

The most compact of the series, the DXR8 measures 458 by 280 by 280mm but delivers 1100W of power. And it has the same 48-bit DSP processing, intelligent dynamics control, onboard three channel mixer and DSP protection functions as the rest of the DXR range.

High powered audio then from a unit that’s easy to handle and has negligible impact on audience sightlines.

“We looked at a number of different loudspeaker ranges and narrowed the choice down to two types, one of which was the DXR8,” Frédéric Viricel, audio production manager at GL Events, said. “We compared the sound of the two loudspeakers and the DXR8 was more precise, which is very important for speech intelligibility.”
