Health and wellness will be the theme of the next Micebook event, tackling fitness, stress and mindfulness.

Aimed at corporate, agency and freelance planners, The Calisthetics Games – Mice Edition is an all-round sports competition. The event aims to bring health and wellbeing to the forefront, regardless of athletic level.

The Calisthetics Games were created by coach, speaker and author Jason Allan Scott.

As well as seeking out the ‘The Greatest Athlete’ in the hotel, hospitality, events, meetings and incentives sector, they will also measure the athletic and functional performance of planners of all sporting abilities – from ultra-marathoners to couch potatoes.

The event on 14 November will include sessions geared towards nutrition, wellbeing and mindfulness.

Scott is a keen supporter of initiatives which minimise the negative health impacts of events.

Scott said: “I’m proud to work with event and hospitality professionals through my roles within both Calisthetics and the wider events industry. Venues and event organisers are waking up to the role they can play as pillars, affecting the lives of the millions of people they look after every day; the Calisthetics Games has the objective to build on that through mobility, movement, mindfulness and athletic pursuits.”

“As someone whose health and wellness were put to the test with MS, I’ve seen first-hand how incredible the events community is in adopting a better understanding of health and wellness in workspaces. It’s my mission to continue to work with the events industry to ensure we make a positive global impact upon the obesity crisis.”

Micebook founder Chetan Shah said: “The Calisthetics Games will give planners the opportunity to pause and really think about the vital role health and wellbeing plays within their busy lives. As well as finding out who are the real fitness champions within the events industry, we’ll also be exploring different aspects of health and wellbeing in a fun and interactive way. Working in events requires you to constantly adapt – from days spent static at your desk to non-stop rushing around onsite.”

Some keynote speakers include (from left to right): Papillon Luck of 15th Degree, Mark Maher of Boulevard Events, Patrick Moore Jones of Mojo Wellbeing and Sarah Mayo and Siôn Stansfield of Point3 Wellbeing.

The event will take place at London venue, Factory 45, on Wednesday 14 November.

The Calisthetics Games and educational sessions will start at 4pm. This will be followed by free food, drinks, networking sessions and the first Awards Ceremony. Can you call yourself, “The Greatest Athlete”?
