Rik Waddon, silver medallist at London 2012 Paralympics, is supporting the first traffic free cycle under the Mersey, part of Pennine Events’ Liverpool Chester Liverpool Bike Ride’s 20th anniversary.

“The [Queensway] tunnel is an exciting addition to the event,” Waddon said. “Now all the family can take part in the big day and it’s a unique opportunity to experience cycling under a river! 

“We hope that children will choose to be sponsored for their fantastic cycling achievement and raise money for our official charity, Claire House children’s hospice,” he added.
