To counteract the wastage from events, Arena recycled leftover vinyl into high-quality bags for Cancer Research UK this festive season.

Arena UK & Europe provides mass participation equipment for more than 300 Race for Life and Pretty Muddy races across the UK each year for Cancer Research UK.

Banners are branded specifically for Cancer Research UK, and are placed at different stages of the course. Unfortunately, the banners don’t usually have a very long life and become damaged, outdated, and end up being disposed of.

To counteract this wastage, and do their part towards sustainability, Arena decided to recycle the material and turn it into corporate gifts for Cancer Research UK this festive season.

Head of mass participation Steve Shaw, commented: “Sustainability has always been a concern for us at Arena, and we wanted to give our client something a little more innovative and special this Christmas. After seeing an article about a company who recycles lorry tarps into bags I was inspired to do something similar with our leftover vinyl.

“After much research, we found a great company called Banner Bags who specialises in this, and they created some fantastic messenger bags out of the leftover branded vinyl to gift our client.”
