For the second consecutive year Anna Valley, the AV rental specialists for the broadcast and events sector, has been revealed as the production team chosen on behalf of the BBC for the Sports Personality of the Year 2014 Awards.

Rudi Thackray, the production designer responsible for designing one of the most important sporting televised stages commented: “We had a very specific look that we wanted to achieve using Videoflex. It was agreed, quite early on, that to achieve the desired look we would need to bring in a single supplier for the screen based LED and also the creative LED. This allowed us to bring in a team that are incredibly proactive in finding solutions and were able to work closely with us and provide the best end result. 

“Having worked with Anna Valley previously we knew they were the best people for the job. We had the reassurance and confidence that the AV provided would deliver both the creative and screen based LED that would be visually impactful without costs spiralling out of control.

“During rehearsals the creative LED team excelled themselves particularly when changes, tweaks and adaptations were made which needed to be incorporated quickly including adding more linear LED. This can become incredibly time consuming but everyone worked tirelessly to achieve the end result.  Each team member was instrumental in the project and helping bring it together.”

Tim Oliver at Anna Valley further added: “It was amazing to be part of the Sports Personality of the Year 2014 project for the second year in a row and once again it was a huge success all around.”
