Amazon has announced Prime Live Events, a programme of intimate shows with exclusive access of bands and artists to Amazon Prime members.

The debut Prime Live Event will take place 23 May with Blondie taking to the stage for 750 fans at the Round Chapel in Hackney. The event has been labelled a sign of things to come by Amazon with a number of venues carefully selected to create a “unique” fan experience.

Prime Live Events will be filmed and aired exclusively for Prime Video internationally, allowing Prime members to watch the gigs at no extra cost to their membership.

“We want to offer Prime members the best live entertainment experience they’ve ever had by giving them the chance to see their favourite artists perform up close and personal in iconic and intimate venues,” said Geraldine Wilson, general manager of Amazon Tickets.

The schedule for June and July includes the likes of Alison Moyet, who will be performing her first London show of 2017 on 12 June, Texas playing to 600 fans on 16 June at Porchester Hall and Katie Melua will play two dates on 25 and 26 July at Cadogan Hall.

“We’re delighted to reveal our first line up of fantastic artists performing Prime Live Events in stunning venues to audiences of less than 800, and Prime members in the UK and internationally will have the chance to watch the performance on Prime Video.”
